All good things must come to an end.  Or, in some cases be redefined.  That’s why we recently revised our menu and launched a new spring/summer food menu.  In attempting to be as seasonal as possible, our new menu items are inspired by seasonal produce and seafood.  We thought we’d give you a quick overview of how our menus have changed, so you wouldn’t be caught drooling off guard.  So, without further ado, let’s plunge in.

Pulled Wild Boar Benny:
What’s inside: Corn bread, 2 free range eggs, hollandaise, potatoes and organic greens.
What Makes it so Good:  We decided to add this item to the menu because…..Boar?  What more do we need to say?  Soft, succulent, and tender, this meaty benny will deliver that protein kick even the most Atkin strict dieter will appreciate.  The boar is gloriously perched on home baked corn bread laced with a hint of jalapeno and crowned with two poached eggs and homemade hollandaise.  This benny brings back memories of granny’s cooking, but with a modern twist.

What’s inside: Fresh fruit, lemon curd, vanilla whip, graham & meringue crumble.
What Makes it so Good:  If you love lemon meringue pie, you will adore these waffles.  The fresh, tangy lemon mixes well with the sweet vanilla whip, crunchy graham and meringue and warm made to order waffles. Have a textured dessert for breakfast!  Add one of our sausages or bacon to add a little savoury flavor to your meal.

Pulled Wild Boar Poutine
What’s inside: Roasted nugget potatoes, cheese curds & mushroom gravy.
Tasting Notes:  Everyone’s favorite indulgence with a twist.  It’s ingenious to add wild boar to an all time favorite.  The crispy nugget potatoes are topped with cheese curds, tender wild boar, and savoury gravy. Decadent and delicious.  This appetizer is worth every calorie.

Beet Salad
What’s inside: Goat cheese, pistachio, arugula, citrus vinaigrette.
Tasting Notes: This salad has it all.  The soft and sweet goat’s cheese paired with the crunchy texture of roasted pecans on top of a bed of arugula with sweet roasted beets and finished with a zesty, tangy citrus vinaigrette.  This colorful salad tastes as good as it looks. This salad is my new creed.  A must have for summer time.

Wild Mushroom Ravioli
What’s inside:Pulled Maple Hills Farm’s chicken, roasted garlic, sweet peas, mushroom cream.
What Makes it so Good: The ravioli is a decent size with plenty of mushroom stuffing that will satisfy even the hungriest customer.   The sweet peas and texture of the chicken compliment nicely the mushroom filled ravioli.  This is comfort food at it’s best.

Seared Halibut Sandwich
What’s inside: Halibut, garlic aioli, pickled oyster mushrooms, arugula & red onion on a toasted baguette.
Tasting notes: The light and flaky halibut combines nicely with the tangy pickled mushroom and garlic aioli.  It’s a light but satisfying meal combined with nugget potatoes and organic greens.

Buttermilk Fried Prawns
What’s inside: Crispy pretzel coating, creamy polenta, seafood bisque.
Tasting notes: This interesting appetizer is defined by the crunchy pretzel coating that adds texture, while the seafood bisque adds a punch of flavor.  A delightfully fun and creative appetizer.

Panko Crusted Pork Chop
What’s inside: Soy brined, sesame soba noodle salad, warm home made kimchi, Japanese mayo.
What makes it so scrumptious: A fusion of east meets west. Mixing Asian influences, this is a multicultural dish that brings harmony between the different elements.  The crispy pork chop is delightful with the slightly crunchy sesame soba noodle salad, and paired with warm tangy and slightly spicy kimchi, and topped with a neutralized mayo to even out the dish. If you’re feeling like a twist on Asian, try this unique delicious fusion dish!

Seared Pacific Halibut
What’s inside: Creamy polenta, warm bacon & tomato vinaigrette, grilled asparagus.
What makes it so good: Cooked perfectly, this light and flaky fish is the perfect summer dish.  The aromatic bacon and tomato vinaigrette adds a smokey, unconventional flavor that is reminiscent of summer barbeques, but only hints at it, without overwhelming the fish.  The polenta adds a nice creamy texture, while the grilled asparagus adds a punch of crispness while brightening the plate.  A beautiful twist on a summer favourite.

Indian Spiced Veggie Loaf
What’s inside: Tomato eggplant chutney, buttermilk mash, roasted cauliflower.
What makes it so good:  A new favorite for the vegetarians out there!  This flavorful and somewhat spicy dish combines the goodness of hearty vegetables with some indian personality.  Spicy and satisfying.
